There is new information about the writers’ strike. The 2023 Writers Guild of America has been on strike for 143 days. This is about the be the second-longest strike. The longest one was in 1988, which lasted 153 days.

The union argued that the streaming era has made it difficult for them to make a living. They also cited poor working conditions as the reason for this strike.

This strike is so monumental that the SAG-AFTRA union joined them as well. They have met for the past few days to negotiate, but no deal has been reached yet.

However, outlets like Deadline and The New York Times predict that the strike will come to an end soon.

Yet, the WGA claims they’re not even close to done yet. They just want the public to think that the writers’ strike is close to coming to an end.

This latest information could impact future episodes of Days Of Our Lives, which is currently using scab writers.

The user mayaandoliver1 posted on the SoapCentral.com Message Boards that the strike will end in the next few days. Head writer Ron Carlivati shared a statement on the future of DOOL.

The episodes airing from Christmas Day 2023 to May 2024 are written by scab writers and will still air no matter what happens with the strike.

The dialogue includes Carlivati’s current storylines. That means most of the scripts will be written by scabs during that time. These are the estimated timelines at the time of this writing.

This doesn’t mean that the strike is over. The WGA hasn’t reached a deal with studio executives yet. Some are uncertain if there will be any end to the strike. The Days of Our Lives fans took to the thread to react to this latest update.
