General Hospital: Carly Spencer – The New Owner Of The Kelly’s Diner
While we are still mourning the sudden death of Jacklyn Zeman, thankfully, her character Bonnie is still alive on General Hospital. As per the storyline, she is just dealing with her brother’s affairs overseas. While she might be away, her assets have really saved Carly’s life. Carly has now inherited Kelly’s fro, Bonnie and it looks like her character Laura Wright is very excited about it. Recently, the actress spoke to Soap Opera Digest, and revealed that this script was not initially written. She admitted that if Jacklyn hadn’t passed away, Carly wouldn’t have inherited the Diner. But since she is deceased, the writers chose to make Bonnie’s daughter the next heir.
While speaking to SOD, Wright foreshowed Carly’s thoughts after getting Kelly’s Diner. Since Carly lost the Metro Court, she is thrilled to own the Diner. The General Hospital actress explained that Carly is excited to transform this place as soon as possible. She wishes to turn it into the hottest spot on the waterfront, similar to the Metro Court, that she lost.
All About The Kelly’s Diner
Kelly’s was introduced on the General Hospital as a waterfront diner in 1980. It is a beautiful dining place initially owned by Paddy and Rose Kelly. But after an unfortunate incident, Rose left the town by selling the Diner to Ruby Anderson. Rose’s husband was killed, so she left as she couldn’t stay there without him. The ownership transfers didn’t end there yet. Ruby, during her end days, handed over the place to her niece and nephew – Luke and Bobbie. And here comes the current owner – Carly, who inherited it after Bonnie.
Carly Spencer fell into debt after losing everything. Carly put every penny she had into Aurora’s stock on the General Hospital. Of course, it was foolish of her to put everything into stocks as they’re constantly fluctuating. But who would’ve stopped this lady!? Therefore, she had to sell the Metro Court to pay the debt. Ironically, her stockbroker told Carly that even her whole investments wouldn’t be enough to pay the total debt. But now that she owns Kelly’s Diner, she can earn the lost money and be free from bankruptcy.
