General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was believed to be dead after an explosion on Cassadine Island. But unknown to anyone, Jason was apprehended by the FBI and was given an impossible choice.
Special Agent John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) had obtained a recording of Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) admitting she was in charge of the Corinthos Organization during a meeting between all the local mob bosses of New York.
Carly only assumed that role when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) was presumed dead and Jason wasn’t available to attend the meeting himself.
General Hospital Spoilers – Jason Morgan Became An Informant For The FBI
Cates agreed not to send Carly to prison as long as Jason worked as an informant for the FBI undercover. During that whole time, Jason’s family and friends believed him to be dead while Jason moved up the ranks of the Pikeman Group.
Jason’s cover was recently blown and he’s returned to Port Charles although he is still under the control of the FBI until Pikeman is taken down. But who could have made that recording. There are two very real possibilities.
GH Spoilers – Cyrus Renault Wanted Revenge!
Perhaps the most obvious suspect would be Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). At the time, he wanted to take over Sonny’s territory. After Sonny’s death, he though he was the obvious choice to take over until Carly showed up and stopped him.
He could have recorded the entire meeting and sent it to the FBI in order to get Carly out of the way so he could take over Sonny’s territory himself.
Carly also had Cyrus’ mother kidnapped in order to keep her in check. So he clearly had motive. But he might not be the only one.
General Hospital Spoilers – Selina Wu May Have Wanted Carly Spencer Out Of The Way!
Selina Wu (Lydia Look) was also present at the meeting of the five families. It’s curious that she wasn’t prosecuted as well since the FBI obviously had evidence on her as well. That is unless she leaked the recording herself in exchange for immunity.
She might have hoped that the FBI would use the recording to put Carly in prison so she could take over Sonny’s territory.
Sonny came home and Selina found a way to work with him without Carly having to pay the price, Perhaps the FBI decided that Carly wasn’t a big enough catch, knowing they could use Jason to help take out Pikeman.
