The littlest scene-stealers on GENERAL HOSPITAL just reached a major milestone with the soap opera: Joey and Jay Clay — the twin brothers who share the role of baby Ace — are celebrating their first anniversary with the show!
The 17-month-old brothers made their GH debut in February 2023 when amnesiac Esme gave birth to her and Nikolas’ son. And over the past year, the toddlers have gained quite a fan base among viewers of the soap who just can’t get enough of the handsome little dudes!
The boys even have an active presence on social media thanks to their mom, Lana, who regularly shares behind-the-scenes photos of their work on GH, other gigs (like Joey’s modeling for Nike), and sweet family moments with mom and dad Mark!
To celebrate Joey and Jay’s approaching first anniversary with the soap, Lana shared a selection of behind-the-scenes photos and anecdotes, which we have rounded up from their Twitter and Instagram accounts.

“Celebrating our first anniversary on General Hospital! Grateful for this opportunity and the amazing support from fellow actors and actresses. Fun fact: The boys joined the show at just six months old,” revealed their mom, posting then-and-now images of her sons.
“General Hospital’s wardrobe team does an amazing job dressing our sons!” enthused Lana. “Their outfits are always adorable, meticulously matching, and we love the creative direction they bring to each scene. When we arrive, we check in with security, head to our dressing room for privacy, relax, and then dress the boys for their scenes.”
“Did you know GH prioritizes child safety? Joey and Jay hold permits to work, and [my husband] Mark and I are present for every episode,” the boys’ mom explained. “The industry standards and California law ensure a studio teacher/welfare worker is always there to oversee the well-being of our sons.”
Jay — wearing his “Ace” onesie — shared some laughs on the set with TV mom Avery Kristen Pohl (Esme) and great-grandmother Genie Francis (Laura).
