General Hospital predictions suspect Nikolas Cassadine may grab his baby boy, Ace Cassadine, and take off again on the ABC daytime drama.
General Hospital Predictions: Nikolas Cassadine Desperate to Protect Ace
Currently, on GH, we have Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) back in town to stay for a while longer. He hasn’t met his young son, Ace Cassadine (Clay twins), until recently. So, I wonder if Nik makes a move to snatch the kid and run based on some upcoming spoilers for the ABC soap.
Let’s talk about these spoilers and what’s ahead for the Cassadines. So, on Friday, Jan 12th, in the closing moments of the show, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) was supposed to be grabbing Ace and heading to the courthouse.
Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) wants him at her arraignment on the B&E charges related to her escapade at Wyndemere. But he’s delayed and distracted when his dad, Nikolas Cassadine, is at the door. It’s been about a year since Nikolas saw Spencer on General Hospital.
If you don’t recall, Nikolas missed Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) memorial service, which rubbed Spencer the wrong way. And right after that, Spencer told Nikolas that he was going to pursue getting custody of his brother or sister as soon as they were born.
Nikolas Blinded by Betrayal
You may recall that Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Spencer were conspiring back then, and she showed him the confession video that Nikolas recorded where he confessed to trying to hurt Esme. Nikolas was enraged that they were working together against him.
And that’s when he threatened to take Avery Corinthos (Scarola twins) from Ava, and she conked him in the head and left him for dead. Most of this time, he’s been presumed to have run off to avoid prosecution for holding Esme prisoner on General Hospital.
So, it’s been a couple of weeks shy of a year when Nikolas turns up at the door to Laura Spencer Collins‘ (Genie Francis) place, and Spencer’s jaw drops. And it seems that Nikolas is there for a couple of reasons. He wants to try and bury the hatchet with his son and also meet his other son.
Spencer Shocks Everyone on GH
Indeed, no one was expecting Spencer to roll out the welcome mat for his wayward papa on General Hospital. According to new spoilers, Nikolas knows Spencer’s going to grill him about where he’s been for the past year because his little son Ace is about to turn one.
But shockingly, Spencer was more receptive than he thought he’d be and he even let Nik hold Ace. You may recall Nikolas basically told Spencer he’s not his son anymore during their last bitter argument.
So, he thought Spencer would be more hostile on General Hospital, and he’s trying to mend fences as best he can. But he’s also planning to skip out of Port Chuck before he faces arrest for keeping pregnant Esme captive in the tower.
Esme Raises Eyebrows on General Hospital
Currently, Spencer’s taken Nik’s place in Ace’s life pretty much since the kid was born. He was being a surrogate daddy until Trina Robinson made him stop. And I think he misses his daily involvement with raising Ace.
But there’s more. Spencer’s pretty certain that Esme’s memories are back. Right now, on General Hospital, as far as Nikolas and everyone else knows, Esme’s still an amnesiac. She told her mom, Heather Webber (Alley Mills).
And she encouraged her to keep playing memory loss victim. But at the PCPD interrogation room the other day, Esme messed up and called her ex-boyfriend Spence. No one else called him that, and amnesiac Esme wouldn’t know it.
So, Spencer suspects evil Esme is back to herself, which worries him. And now his neglectful dad is there asking about Ace. There’s a bunch of spoilers this week that have me really excited about this storyline.
So, after his chat with Nikolas on Monday, Spencer’s concerned on Tues Jan 16th, and vows to protect his little brother. I think at this point, Spencer assumes that Esme and Nikolas both will be bad influences on baby Ace Cassadine.
And he doesn’t want that for his little brother on General Hospital. But Spencer’s also got a huge obligation on his calendar. He’s supposed to be leaving for Paris with Trina, who’s got a semester abroad at the Sorbonne. And he plans to go, but how can he?
Spencer Lets Trina Down?
On Tues, Esme hears from Trina about their plans, which may stun her. However, she may also think it’s a good thing for Spencer to be away from her while she tries to cover up that she’s gotten her memories back.
She may also be jealous, though. Wednesday has Esme in a panic, and Thursday’s General Hospital spoilers say she goes to someone surprising for help. Could it be Nikolas Cassadine?
By Friday, she’s desperate and, also on Friday, we have Spencer coming clean to Laura. I’m certain he’ll tell her Nikolas is in town, and I also think he may tell her the red flag about Esme’s memories returning.
Dark Prince Runs off with Baby Ace on General Hospital?
Now, I have to wonder if Nikolas kidnaps his son, Ace, to get the kid away from Esme. It’s not like Nikolas can really stay in Port Charles without facing criminal charges. And Esme can’t really consent to dropping the charges unless her memory is intact.
Otherwise, she’s basically considered incompetent to drop charges for events she can’t remember, right? Nikolas already told Ava he planned to leave town on General Hospital. But now, Esme’s on probation,
And Nikolas doesn’t want to stick around and risk jail time. So, taking his baby boy and running seems like something he’d do. And then he can always come back later, and they can SORAS the kid to an older age.
But, Nikolas isn’t leaving General Hospital quite yet. Adam Huss has more to unpack in coming scenes. And I don’t think he’ll stay long-term. I love Nikolas, and I think the more I see Adam in the role, the more I’ll adjust to him. But for now, I feel like this is a shorter arc.
Nik Not Sticking Around?
But maybe he will stick around until February Sweeps. No doubt, he wants to get his hands on Ace, but no one’s going to willingly hand the kid over. Then again, Esme might cut a deal with him for the three of them to leave together.
That way, she and Nik both avoid prison, and both can spend time with Ace on General Hospital. That’d be a pretty soapy outcome to all this. However, Nik recently dropped a bomb. Not only does he want to take Ace, but he wants Spencer to come with him as well.
He said he couldn’t stay in Port Charles and risk going to prison. But this time, when he flees the country, he wants to take both of his sons. Of course, Spencer would never leave Trina. So he’s not going to voluntarily go with his father.
That’s his choice, so Nik might not fight him on it. But it certainly looks like he’s going to take Ace, especially if Esme agrees to go. However, Spencer might not be able to stay behind knowing his baby brother is with his father and Esme.
Plus, Nicholas Chavez is in the middle of filming a new project. And rumors are circulating that he might take some time off from General Hospital. So he may agree to leave town with his dad and little brother.
We’ll have to wait and see how it goes, but I feel like we’ve got a big Cassadine twist head. Things are getting wild on GH. Tune in daily to see if Nikolas Cassadine grabs his son and disappears on the ABC sudser.
