General Hospital super-couple Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine just hit a rough patch. And their relationship might not make it on the ABC sudser.
General Hospital Predictions: Spencer Cassadine & Trina Robinson Closer than Ever
Recently, on GH, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) took Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) on a romantic trip to New York City. While they were there, they grew much closer and became intimate for the first time.
It was an unforgettable trip. Of course, Spencer pulled out all the stops and made it incredibly special for Trina. They had a renewed strength in their relationship.
And an even deeper commitment to each other. But when they came home, reality hit. And now, their romance is being put to the test on General Hospital.
Trina at Her Limit on GH
Spencer was recently blindsided when he learned that Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) is looking for a new apartment for her and baby Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay). Furthermore, his grandmother, Laura Spencer Collins (Genie Francis), is helping Esme.
She’s even willing to co-sign the lease and help her pay the rent. Indeed, Spencer sees this as a massive betrayal on Laura’s part. Naturally, he went right to Trina to fill her in — but he got a shock. Indeed, Trina was thrilled to learn that Esme is moving out on General Hospital.
Spencer’s living with Esme has been difficult on Trina. And it put a strain on the “Sprina” relationship. After all, she is his ex-girlfriend, plus she terrorized Trina for months. No doubt, she’s been more than patient and understanding because of Ace.
But when she finally thought things would get better, Spencer lashed out. He blew up on her for not taking his side, and she got a glimpse of the old Spencer. The selfish, angry, entitled rich kid. So, this might be the beginning of the end.
“Sprina” Doomed on General Hospital?
No matter how hard they try, Trina and Spencer may not last. No doubt, they both love each other deeply, but Esme and Ace may be too much for Trina. More specifically, Spencer’s almost obsessive commitment to Ace might become too much.
Of course, he’s his little brother, so he loves him very much. But he’s acting like more than a big brother. He’s trying to play the role of father because his father, Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), isn’t there to do it.
He is so afraid Ace is going to grow up feeling abandoned like he did on General Hospital. And it seems like he’s projecting his own abandonment issues onto Ace. He is going too far, and it’s threatening things with Trina.
Additionally, once Esme gets her memory back, we may find out that she lied before. Spencer might actually be Ace’s father — not Nik. If so, he and Trina likely won’t stand a chance. Esme already admitted that she has feelings for Spencer.
And if it turns out that he’s Ace’s father, he will want to live with him. So, when the truth comes out, he may move in with them. Not for Esme, but for Ace. But, of course, they are a package deal. And that may be the final straw for Trina.
