Don’t all bad guys just need love? Think of all the men Laura’s love has already reformed. Luke (Anthony Geary). Stefan (Stephen Nichols). She’s even got Martin (Michael E. Knight) behaving a little better. (OK, she turned Scott [Kin Shriner] in the other direction, but nobody is perfect.) Why not try to kill Cyrus with kindness? Once he finally feels accepted, who needs to commit crimes?

Of course, Laura has a lot on her mind right now. There’s the still missing Nikolas (Adam Huss), there’s Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl), and Ace, there’s Lulu’s motherless kids, Lucky’s fatherless kids, her neglected husband, Kevin (Jon Lindstrom), and the ever-screwed-up Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). She’s got no time to coddle Cyrus. She should just send him back to the slammer. What’s the point of being mayor if you can’t make the law work for you?
Laura Collins: Wait and See
Or, Laura can just kick the can down the road. She doesn’t have to do anything about Cyrus this very second. She can give him enough rope to either hang himself or weave a lovely basket. If he doesn’t plan to cause any problems, Laura can focus her attention on more important things. But if he steps out of line, no trial, no jury, just a one-way ticket to a life sentence. She’s the mayor, you know.
