Lindsie Chrisley Shares How Her Family Spent Thanksgiving 2022 Ahead of Parents Todd and Julie’s Prison Stints

Todd and Julie Chrisley didn’t welcome their family home last Thanksgiving.

Lindsie Chrisley shared the inside story of how Thanksgiving 2022 really went down right after the reality TV stars were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison for financial crimes.

“We had no idea what was gonna happen for the holidays, but the general plan was that we were all going to be in Tennessee at my parents’ house,” Lindsie, 34, told her PodcastOne’s Coffee Convos co-host Kail Lowry on Monday’s episode. “Once the sentencing came down, my parents wanted no one in their home. I completely understand, your world has just been rocked, and the last thing I would want to be doing is entertaining anyone.”

So the plan was off — and because Lindsie hadn’t planned her own Thanksgiving festivities, she had to improvise. But that was just the beginning of the surprises: “Next day, my biological mom shows up in my driveway. It’s just me, her and [my son] Jackson at my house,” she said.

When asked if her mother Teresa Terry’s presence was welcomed, Lindsie added, “It ended up being good because I didn’t feel like I had to be alone, and Jackson had someone to play with if I wanted to be in my sad girl era. So that part was good. But I just feel like I was so overwhelmed … didn’t know what to expect or what to do. ”

The family ended up going out to dinner for Thanksgiving. “I will not lie to you guys, I did not think the food was great at Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving,” Lindsie added. “I think I had the experience you had where you’re used to one thing and you have something else, it just doesn’t feel like home … it was just a very nontraditional Thanksgiving.”

But Lindsie has chosen to see the topsy-turvy Turkey Day as a lesson for her son as well as a chance for him to be with loved ones as the world learned about her parents’ sentencing. The family ended playing football before visiting a friend’s house for Thanksgiving champagne.

Just days before the holiday, the two Chrisley Knows Best stars received their sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion — crimes they continue to deny they committed.

Todd, 54, was sentenced to 12 years in prison while Julie, 50, received seven years. In September, however, the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ online inmate search system indicated that the Chrisley family patriarch will now be released nearly two years early, while Julie’s sentence was trimmed by 14 months.

Both were given 16 months of probation following their jail time when their sentence were handed down in November 2022.

Todd and Julie have consistently maintained their innocence, and Lindsie’s siblings Savannah Chrisley and Chase Chrisley have been vocal advocates for their parents in the nearly 10 months since they reported to their respective facilities.
